I've been really disturbed lately by current events as well as the stuff that's been flung on this web site. A kid I used to babysit (he's in his 30's now) was killed on the plane that struck the Pentagon. I know his family and saw them grieving during CNN's coverage of the memorial service in Washington, D.c.

Tragedy and death are terrible things. I lost my husband to cancer 7 years ago. Shelley lost her dad and Mark lost his. Each of us has a sob story. I can't possibly imagine how many single parents died in the World Trade Center and left behind little kids.

Maybe today I'm having a conscience. Maybe today my heart is overriding my need to "be right" but I'm tired of the badgering, the ridicule, the mockery we display to each other on this site. I'm tired of the "fuck you's" for expressing an opinion, the personal attacks for making an unpopular statement (guilty as charged), or the insinuation of lack of intellect because we utilize standard media sources rather than lock ourselves in a web world to generate supposed independent thought.

Why can't we all just get along? The real world is stressful enough. Why does coming to this place stress me out too?
